Outside the Lines: Feb.6 - 12, 2005

Hmmmm...the sitters must have left us alone this weekend...they haven't closed last weeks Outside the Lines yet...and no one has started a new one. So I guess I will start it. What can we do to stir up trouble around here? HeHe.

It is pretty quiet. I guess alot of people are glued to the television set watching football...or the commercials. I personally only watch for the commercials and even those are not keeping my attention.

I hope many of you are working on Nicole's sunflower project. Time will be running out soon. If you haven't started yet, you better get busy.

Have a good week everyone.

Okay. So I'm a bit slow today. But I'm still watching. So no spilling drinks on the carpet.

Boy it sure is quiet here!

I just got back form a super bowl party at church. We didn't stay for the whole game. About the only thing I really paid attention to was Paul McCartney. He did a fab job (IMHO) I was a huge Beatles fan, so for me it was a wonderful treat to hear some of the old stuff and not have to be conerned about the content of the lyrics or any possible wardrobe malfunctions!

Ah, tomorrow is back to the grind....

We also had a super bowl party at the church. Some of the area churches started earlier so that services would be over by the time the game started. Ours decided to tape the game, and one person would continue to tape the last half of the game while everyone else was watching the first half. I totally agree on Paul McCartney. He is still awesome. I noticed they toned the commercials way back too.

Re: Outside the Lines: Feb.6 - 12, 2005

I havent seen the superbowl yet and this is why. I started to work on my ova project and after sharpening 1 pencil my panasonic sharpener died (I have had it for one month). I decide to go get a shower then study for my mid terms this week. While indisposed wife yells the celling is leaking. I turn off the water to my shower and it stops yippie. so I spent the next 2 days ripping out the floor in my upstairs bathroom, the celling and walls in my kitchen and the pvc pipe to the up stairs bathroom. I am just glad I didn't put the ceramic tile down last weekend like I was going to. The good news is the damage did not exceed my bike fund of course it took almost all of it (I am never going to get that bike). My recliner in my couch broke beyond repair this weekend to and since they don't make it anymore the wife had to pick out a new set. The new set is a different color so I have to repaint the livingroom oh well I have to repaint the kitchen now anyway. so how was you guys weekend? lol

Hazegry, oh my goodness!! You should have stayed in bed...you poor thing! Hope it all works out. Bet your wife is thrilled to have new furniture and new paint on the walls though.

Haven't been posting for a while as life is very busy here what with mother-in-law in & out of nursing home and hospital. It's wearin on my husband more than me and I feel for him as he has all the responsibility in takin care of her needs.

We appear to be growin in membership here again as I see some new faces at the colored pencil forum. So welcome to all the new people and glad to see you're back Elankat. How's that little one doin??

Are you talking about a bicycle or motorcycle? I have the former but desperately want the latter! My wife keeps giving me the 'ole "in a couple of years, when bill X is paid off." I'm afraid a couple of years will never get here and then it will be bill Y or Z. LOL, sigh

Hazegry Wow what a bummer, all that work and your bike fund down the tubes. I believe in guys having bikes, my DH has three and rides thousands of miles a year, he has the need for speed. Hope your fund gets full once again and you get your bike, you sound like you deserve it.

I blew off the superbowl this year sent DH to the partys with out me, I get tired of all the noise. Looks like it was a good thing, slow game and bad commercials so I guess I did not miss much.

Went to my grandaughters wedding shower, my goodness there is one thing to be said about showers you see all the people you have not seen in years.
She had a wonderful time, loads of presents and fun was had by all.

I cleaned and organised my art room, thats right cleaned and cleaned. bought those metal mesh stack shelves you can make any size and put them togeather my self "Thank you" I now know where every thing is, nothing is behind the door, or lost in a pile on the bed. Now I have to get over not wanting to go in there and make a mess. LOL sure feels good to have every thing in its place.

Heres hoping you all have a wonderful week

Rosa

Hazegry, I hope your house is still standing!

I too watched that football game and the fab Sir Paul, yeah, yeah, yeah! Our Danish TV-station has some pretty entertaining football commentators, who were this year joined by kicker Morten Andersen, which did not make it less entertaining! They also ran a quiz; I’d better try and find the right answers – the prize is a football signed by the aforementioned Viking.

Hope everyone has a great week! And as Beth said – remember the sunflowers for Nicole! (I already did mine. )

We watched the super bowl too. Son and I were pulling for the Eagles and Husband for the Patriots. Sigh. Every team I adopt seems to lose. I loved the commercial for the soilders. Very moving. We saw Sir Paul in concert when I was pregnant with my daughter. Looked just like that. My favorite beatle was George. Hazeygry and Bill I hate to tell you this but your wives are putting you of with the bikes cuz they are affraid you will kill yourselves on them. So bad news.....no bikes, good news.......they like having you around. wanda

Re: Outside the Lines: Feb.6 - 12, 2005

thanks for the good thoughts guys. Bill Mine was for a recumbent bicycle a rans vivo to be exact, I found one still new at a local bike shop (they were discontinued in 2003) 1400 bucks down the drain litteraly . I have had a harley AMF dirt bike I think it was a 73 had lots of fun on that bike, I gave it to a buddy of mine when I left for bootcamp. I wanted the bike to ride to work, and do that fit thing the Navy is always going on about . If you do get one remember LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES I would get another but my wife would kill me so I will have to settle for my bicycles I average 40-50 miles a trip with those as is . gennieann hope your mother-in law gets better I don't know what I would do if something happened to my mom.

Aw...that's sweet Hazegry but I'm afraid she won't be getting better. It's just her time.

As her heart works less & less, she has become quite confused & often speaks of seeing deceased relatives as well as thinking her son (my husband) is her deceased husband.

We're are hopin for a swift & gentle release.

And sorry but I have to agree with Wanda...we wives have no desire to see the road rushin up at our husbands faces at top speed.

Although I must admit that I rode dirt bikes when I was younger...it was way fun!

Re: Outside the Lines: Feb.6 - 12, 2005

As one of the wives whose husband wants a bike "w/ loud pipes", I have to say it terrifies me to no end to think of him on that thing. He had one when we were young (& stupid! ) , and now he wants one again. Actually thinks I'm gonna get on it w/ him and tour cross-country ! I think I'll just keep coming up w/ bill a-z and hope he stays content w/ the non-motorized bikes like Hazegry talked about-hubby's very into that as well.

Went to the doc today w/ what I thought was an ear infection and got diagnosed w/ something called mastoiditis. It's an infection of the mastoid (gland? bone?) behind the ear which is making the whole left side of my head hurt from the top down to my neck. It hurts to move my hair! It's weird. I'm on super-mega doses of antibiotics and if it's not completely gone in a few days I gotta see an ENT to get the infection "cleaned out". The prospect doesn't sound appealing......I can't even imagine what the procedure would be for that I don't plan on finding out either

Re: Outside the Lines: Feb.6 - 12, 2005

I don't get a bike either I had a bad accident on a bicycle when I was a kid. Seems no one wants to see what would happen if I had a bike with a motor on it.... probably should do the eyeroll thing again here. Actually they probably are right.... but I can dream.

Ouch Denise. Sounds really bad. I can't imagine what it would feel like for your hair to hurt ( no jokes ) but it doesn't sound fun. Everyone I know at work has been having all kinds of problems with sore throats, coughing, and flu symptoms. Hope you get well soon.
