Gesso River

I had an idea and gessoed over an old painting (Easter Monring) repainted, added more gesso, painted over that, applied some more gesso with a very rough bottle brush, painted those areas again. Added some oil pastels, painted some more.
I dont know if its done. I think there's still gesso bits that need to be covered.
Is it worth additional time and effort?
