Talking I See III - Wip

Hello folks!
I have been really busy at this time but I had to post this WIP as I promised.
I hope this would be useful.
I got this picture in the Wetcanvas library but I don´t remember the name of the author, sorry!
I used Fabriano 5 watercolor paper ( hot press) and some few colors from Pablo,Polychromos and Stabilo (I can not find Prismacolors here).
I used a light box to trace the printed reference on the F5 and then using other(small)reference I started to work in the darkest colors .
Any C&C and questions welcome
Lucio

Thanks for another WIP....this is going to be great. What a look, can just visualize a little mouse sitting in front of him ....unaware!

Re: I See III - Wip

What size is this? Are you using a pen for the black lines? Very thin and very black.

Thank you Lily,Wanda and Criquette.
Poor little mouse! Criquette
Bill I am using only cp for this piece! The size is 8x11 inches (21x 29,5 cms).
The black is intense because I used a strong pressure without many layers,
almost like a kid does in the kindergarten
This is another step (a more detailed step)

Re: I See III - Wip

somehow i was hoping you'd have a step inbetween as now it's almost finished and doesn't really give us the idea of how you arrived at your fur.

you must work very fast, which is surprising since you said you didn't have much time. I know that to do all that fur to look so fine and realistic...almost like i was looking at an actual photo, on an 8 x 10 or larger, would have taken me about 3 days.

Re: I See III - Wip

Sorry Arlene , I forgot to scan one of the steps.
It is my first WIP and I hope to do a better work next time.
Its really stressful work on this WIP while my wife see it and says :That Wetcanvas stuff again? Did you finish those covers?
I am not working so fast Arlene. I started this piece in December.
I will post the last step tomorrow . I used a workable fixative, then I will can do changes if I have suggestions.
This is the photo I got in the Wetcanvas Library.

Re: I See III - Wip

Your pencil work is brilliant!
I did one of those kits, a cat by Anne DeMille Flood and it was so difficult for me, so to see you guys do these with such precision just amazes me.
Thanks again

Re: I See III - Wip

Thank you again Lily!
This is the "last" step.
I used a sharp white pencil and a blade to add some lights .
If I have any suggestion I will try to improve it.
Next time I will post some closeups

Re: I See III - Wip

This is wonderful Lucio!

I love how you have captured the look and feel of the fur and the whiskers are amazing!

The only thing I would like to see changed slightly is the eyes, you have captured the glassiness beautifully but they look a little dull -colour wise, would it be possible for you to add a few more layers of green to brighten them up a bit?

Otherwise, everything else is fabulous!!

Big Hugs,

ALI
