Big Black Hat

Acrylic on fabriano paper. 2 3/4 x 3 /34

Here is a painting I wanted to do off of a picture of a man I saw on Oreilly. I forget the mans name. He is a Texas Law man. I wish I had been brave enough to put the cigar in his mouth. He was very hard looking but he did not come out looking this way. Maybe later I will go back and figure it out but not right now.

I think maybe I should darken his pupils a bit more.

thanks
P

this one took me about 2 hours maybe less

Re: Big Black Hat

Thank you, It was fun and fun.... My son used to have a big ol hat like this. These were a familiar sight in my childhood. I should try painting horses, mmm. Maybe I should try this next.

I remember this mans name now. His name is Kinky Friedman and that is no kidding..... He is an author, singer and wants to be governor of Texas.

Re: Big Black Hat

I thought he was from one of the Western series!!!!!!!
An incredible amount of detail here - think I'd agree about the pupils, but not too much black!

Re: Big Black Hat

He looks as if he's looking at something shiny, and so the pupils don't bother me.
It makes me look for a story behind it, and I like that.
Well done.
Regards,
Jillian
