3 small watercolors

Not sure if these qualify as true miniatures (haven't digested all the "rules" yet)...

1) My first effort after switching to M Graham paints. [2.25" wide x 1.25" high]

2) Just 2 colors - Phthalo Blue & Cad Orange [5" wide x 2.5" high]

3) Crazy experiment, painted without using a brush; used twigs I found in my front yard. [5" wide x 3" high]

Beautiful Monumental Minis - the mountains are so fresh. Mmmmmm - painting with twigs? cool -

In the Plein air forum Larry did a demo on how he painted a painting using sticks and twigs and then Marc asked him what he could do with an acorn... When I read that I was laughing for the rest of the day.

Well done - thanks for sharing.

Judith

Beautiful, especially the third one. Such detail! Sticks are great. I've used toothpicks for fine detail. I also use a cat's whisker (I save the ones my cats shed).

Ariadne:
That is very interesting, the cat whiskers, how do you hold it? what end do you use?

Re: 3 small watercolors

Thanks Judith, Yoyita and Eileen. I did these quite some time ago, and had forgotten about them until hearing about this new forum.

Re: 3 small watercolors

All are wonderful works! I especially like the second one; the colors are fabulous considering the fact that you only used two.
