Post "Citizen of the Year"

<IMG SRC="http://www.peoplescapesct.homestead.com/files/citizen.jpg" border=0>

I posted this in general critique forum, and realize it really belongs here.. The unveiling is tomorrow night in front of the subject and 300 or so guests... I am more than a little nervous!

This portrait is so full of character -- not just in the man's face. It seems to me that the whole painting has captured an essence of a personality. Great achievement!

Good luck with the unveiling! I'm sure it will be fine -- enjoy it and let us know how you get on.

best wishes
sandra

Thanks for asking! The unveiling last night went extremely well! Whew! It was very gratifying and lots of press as well as attendees came to me for more info after the presentations... The "Citizen" and his family were delighted. I was comparing my painting to him up until the last minutes, and really felt good about it... especially since he would never sit still long enough for me to paint him! I had to work from composite photos... the worst! But, it all worked out!
