Wia - 12-19-04
Where is everybody???? LOL - the last time I had to start one of these was when I was on the East Coast!
Seattle was not that great yesterday - Luke got whiney and tired when we got there so we only got glass and came home. I picked out some glass bars (Kugler-color) and DH is going to pull it out into cane for lampworking for me. Such pretty colors I was drooling... OMGoodness! I got an olive green and a dark plum and an ocher and a lapis and a purple that looks like raspberries and a sliver blue and a jade green. oh and black. I can't wait to work with these!
DH wanted my help picking out colors for the work he's going to do today (he only wanted 2-3 colors and was overwhelmed) so I picked out a really dark purple, a lime green, a really pretty (and expensive) amber gold and then she talked him into black for lipwraps and such - I would have gone with white to layer under the other colors maybe... but black is good because now he can mix the amber and black and make animal print/tortoise shell looking stuff. He's going to have fun today
Oh and I found a great great book if you are into daily thoughts and affirmations - it's called Reflections in the Light by Shakti Gawain. I think I'll put today's on my website since it's everything I've been trying to put together in my mind for a few months now.
Ok enough babbling for having absolutely nothing to say...
Have a great day everyone
Pam

Re: Wia - 12-19-04
Hi Pam and everybody!
I think I broke my record of sleeping in today. I couldn't believe my eyes when I woke up and glanced at the clock - it was 1:40 in the afternoon... Shame on me! And then I went online just to see WC! was down again, argh! So, I didn't get around to check out yesterday's WIA or anything, will do that later!
Have a nice Sunday everyone!

Wow, it is late, and only us three??
Pam, at least you got some really nice colors out of the trip. Hope today will be a pleasant one and that DH has success with his new glass.
Andee! Woohoo, Miss Sleepyhead! Ya know, just enjoy sleeping in now without guilt, because when you do get that job, no more late mornings for you!
Today a few errands and hopefully having DH help me put up the pictures and mirrors in the living and dining rooms, since I've re-arranged all the furniture!

Re: Wia - 12-19-04
 everyone!
Pam - ooooo! All that pretty glass to play with! Sounds like a good trip to me! But I'm sorry you didn't get to do other fun things while in Seattle.
Andee - I think you have me beat in the sleeping in department. I hope you feel refreshed and not groggy.
Brenda - I love giving a room a new look like that! But our rooms don't really lend themselves to rearranging. But I'm thinking a new lampshade here, a new picture there. Just little thing to do this spring.
Very quiet here today. It's sunny and cold. Should dip down to low 20's tonight and then the temps will start going up again. I've already worked on my New Year goals list. I think they are all doable.
Donna - I think I forgot to mention that I was really pleased about your Mom's method of treatment and how it all came out. It pays to do the research doesn't it?
Have a really nice Sunday everyone!

Re: Wia - 12-19-04
Hello friends! I can't believe how much WC! has been down lately... Seems like everytime I have a minute to check in I can't! Shopped yesterday and made my light bulbs to give to friends today at church. I think I might be a little obsessed! I took a quick picture this morning before we left so I'll post it over in S&T...
Today I'm not sure what I'm going to do... Methinks I better get the laundry started! And then I get to ring bells with a couple other mom's for one of Brenna's choir's songs on Christmas Eve. So we need to practice witht the kids tonight. That'll be fun!
All right - I better get things going. Have a good one!

Re: Wia - 12-19-04
Pam, I get such joy when picking out any kind of art supplies. I'm like a little kid so that I understand you drooling over the new glass
Andee, my sleeping in days are over because papa likes to go for coffee at around 7:30 or so in the morning. Enjoy your sleep ins.
Brenda, I love rearranging ever so often, but dh likes things the way they are, and that is how they have been the past 5 years.
Pat, your temps sound like ours. We didn't have any frost this morning thankfullly. I hate having to scrape windows and mirrors.
This morning I got up early and took papa for coffee, and when I returned home Dave and his cousin were up and wanted me to go to breakfast....lol We met up with some friends there and had a nice meal together.
Papa's leg is sore from his accident on Thursday, so he is having a bit of trouble getting around. I have been keeping an eye on his leg to make sure that it is not brusing too badly. He has been soaking it in Epson Salts.
I came home and made some more earrings. I made some yesterday, so now I have 10 pair done. I will probably make some bracelets later on today. Right now I am ready for a nap.....lol

Good afternoon.
OMG, I am SO GLAD I canceled my subscription to TIME magazine over a year ago. So, so very glad. Because the Person of the Year issue is not something I would want in my mailbox.......
I am going to go puke now.
(Gawd, I am sorry you guys, I should put a hineycon on this post, for my strong, opinionated emotions..... but, it was a slap in my face too see the Yahoo headline.........)

Re: Wia - 12-19-04
My friend/yoga instructor Hope (isn't that a perfect name for her) is coming over today to spend time with me.
Good thing, because she can help get me out of this negative mindset I seem to have been in for at least a week!
We are going to do some yoga and meditation. I am making her an amethyst necklace.
I must focus on the simple beauty of this bountiful, splendid earth! Because people who can continue to do this will heal it.

Who are you two talking about? I don't take Time and rarely see one except when I go to the doctors office and those are years old.

Re: Wia - 12-19-04
Hi all...... just popped by to say hello.... don't get much online time anymore! Also trying to get over the flu this week so my travel back to Ohio for the holiday will be more comfortable!!! sigh..... I hadn't been sick in years... now I'm finding that the neck thing might have been the beginning of this flu!!
Oh... and Donna and Pam...... just one thing ..... (stirring the pot ) found this quote in a Bloomberg article about the Time's institution of naming a person of the year!
``Person of the Year'' doesn't necessarily honor its recipient and controversial cover choices for the issue have included Adolf Hitler in 1938 and Josef Stalin in 1939 and 1942. "
Take care all..... stay warm.... it's supposed to be cold even here tonight!!
Peace,
Lois

Re: Wia - 12-19-04
Hi Lois - hope you are feeling better very soon! LOL - even if it's not an honor, I'm sure they took it as one. Thanks for pointing that out though, it makes me feel a little better... but I still feel a little pukey myself. I think I have a touch of food poisoning. Either the eggnog or the dip as I'm the only one who had any and everyone else is fine. Ug.
Here is a picture of the mountains (what mountains?) today - just so I don't give the false impression that Seattle is always sunny or something.
