Finally, some paint applied

My paintings are too few and far between.
Anyway, painted this from my patio. There used to be a huge open field behind my place, now it's all been bulldozed and they are squezing in as many 3000 sq ft homes in as they can. In my painting the dirt marks the edge between the old and new.

NorWest (is there a name we can call you by?),
I think we can all agree that we've seen way too many fields go the way of cookie-cutter house lots. Very nice capturing of the 'old' on the right side of the dirt. The colors are soft and subtle, and your distances read well to me. The picture looks a little out of focus. Can you get a clearer image for us? Looking forward to seeing you capture more of the "old".....or the new! Welcome to Wetcanvas.

Jamie

nice you join in with us here...and good effort.

I agree with Jamie, kinda hard to read...appears as if you might not have enhance the digital before uploading? Contrast appears off....

hope to see more...

Hi and welcome to the PA forum. Thanks for sharing, the digital camera thing can be frustrating, but even this photo shows a really nice composition, and solid drawing of the buildings, soft harmonious color, very nice. Looking forward to seeing more.

Welcome!

This looks like an interesting painting, there's a lot going on and the colors
look quite harmonious. I agree with others that the image looks a little
blurry and maybe lacks contrast...can you post a better picture?

Chris

Re: Finally, some paint applied

Thanks all. I retook the pics in daylight, its a little better but not 100% in focus. While my daughter is gone over christmas break I plan on churning out 10 or so plien airs. The problem this time of year is the short daylight hours. However there is something I love about how trees look sans leaves.
