Copper Organza from Blue Heeler
Carolyn sent me some copper organza to play around with but, I'm not being successful with this one. How do I use this fine mesh? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

HERE is a thread discussing some aspects of it.

Hey I have some of that. I wonder which "safe" place I put it in?

I'm using a slightly heavier mesh I bought at a local art store. It takes a little finessing, that's for sure. You need a VERY HOT spot on your bead or the darned stuff won't stick, and you need to shape it very well so you avoid air bubbles underneath. But golly gee, it sure looks cool!

Those are awsome looking beads Karen!
I've had some of this for a while now and haven't done anything with it yet. Mine is a bit more tighter woven than yours. I need to give this stuff a try.

Somehow I must have nodded off and missed this little gem. Where do we get the stuff?

You can also get larger pieces online and in more sizes from Dick BLick Art Supplies. They usually have a banner on top of Wet Canvas...

Re: Copper Organza from Blue Heeler
I get the bead hot, then I super heat one spot. That spot is where I start the organza, I wrap it around the bead, then encase it. When it gets hot it immediately goes black. Don't worry, once you encase it, and it cools it goes that cool red color. Here is a bead I made with it as an element. Oh, I found that I liked to fray the edges too, by pulling a couple little wires off the edges. It makes a cool frayed look on the bead. That isn't shown here, but it does work. I'll also heat sections of the organza so it breaks up, before I encase so that I get more random pattern then a cut look. It's pretty easy as far as metals go. Not too fussy with heat, by which I mean it doesn't tend to burn up quickly. Have fun.
In that pick the color of the organza looks kind of black, because it has dark amber over it, but in person it looks more red.
