My first attempt at Flowers and glass in acrylics.
Too sloppy to give away?
Thanks

Good for you! I like it!
I'll move this over to the new "Show and Tell" forum so that others can see it.

LLis and Sandra
Thank you for your kind words. My granddaughter is getting married in a couple of weeks. She made the centerpieces for the reception. She used clay pots, wrapped them in fabric and lace. She then glued flowers around, added a candle in the center covered with glass. She emailed me a photo of them. I thought I would attempt to paint one so she could either keep it for her memories, hide it in a bottom drawer out of view or trash it. I am a beginner but wanted to do this to surprise her. Especially since I cannot attend the wedding as grandpa is recovering from a fall.
I should not be writing all this in this space, just wanted you to understand why I did this "painting?" I enclosed copy of photo she sent that I used to go by. By the way I did mail it to her.
Thanks again.

A note from MOM: DJ asked me to edit this post to show a smaller image. Malarkey has a smaller image a couple of posts down, so I'll just leave a link here so you can see the larger image, if you like.

Sorry
Did not realize previous message and upload would take as much space as it did.

I think this is charming DJ.
I like the colours also, and notice that you have included pink, a colour your granddaughter works with too, which is a nice choice.
If I'm not too late (I see you have 22 posts already) welcome to WC

To Djdedman
Hi there guy;
Let me just say that acrylics are not this world's most forgiving medium, nor one of the easier to work with. What you've accomplished in a first effort is truly magnificent.
I'm sure the gift shall be treasured for it came forth from a heart caring enough to give a personal piece of your soul rather than some store-bought product.
Question: How on earth did you manage to upload such a big image here on WC...when they restrict the sizes to a 100k? I'm not complaining...just envious of how you dood it....lol.
Still, your first try with acrylics is better than some I've seen who claim experience in the medium.
 with respect - Jason

Answer
Answer to your question would be I don't know how I did it.. LOL
I wanted to delete it and retry but was not sure how. I was hoping someone else would delete it for me.
Thank You for your kind words about my first attempt with acrylics.
I'm just an old grandmother who wants to be another Grandma Moses.
I really do apologize to ALL for taking up so much space with the download.
Thanks

Floral/glass
I enjoyed the light you have produced, Acrylics I feel can easily become muddy and flat. which you have avoided...nice one..you have not overworked it.
