Talking Nice

Hi, I like it alot. Great colors, I have been trying to dream up something like this to do but no success yet. I think it's very Piccaso;ish. Very cool.

hey :)

huge fan of the pen and ink. has to do with the figure emerging from the background, rather than competing with it. also, as I have mentioned before, I am more into muddier colors than bright ones. a personal preference is all.

Re first image. This is what I was talking about re composition.
Figure not centered but balanced with diagonal and rhythm of repeated circle objects.

Here's the criticism - the look of straight out of the tube color and no variation in outlining everything and lack of variety in soft/hard lines lends a cartoonishness, lack of sophistication. A bad thing? Not necessarily. Think "edges".

Just my observations. Take what I say with a grain of salt.

I very rarely ever get the chance to cruise around and comment on posted art - but tonight I had a little extra time on my hands. Which means I'm also wholly unqualified to give too much insights into the composition - but I know what I like - and I like this.

I dig the bold colors and lines in the first piece. I am especially fond of folks who use complementary colors in shadow, as you did with the face, and othe areas (red/green, yellow/blue). It harmonizes well for my eyes.

I assume the pen/ink and the other piece were studies for the larger image?

Cheers.
Scott
