Nice job on this!
Excellent use of colors. I love how you've added a varity of colors to the dog itself, rather than the "standard" fur colors. It gives the piece a very nice look.
What medium did you use? It appears to be in oils.
Well done !

Re: Project Discussion: Dogs, Dogs, And More Dogs!
OK I posted a little black pug I just finished. This is only the 2nd project I have entered. The first one there was no discussion for. It was of my 2 dogs. Anyway, I am still learning the ropes here so I hope this is all in the right place. Thanks.

Barbara,
Yep, this is the right place. You should post all questions, suggestions, comments, etc. in this thread.
I love this little guy! His big, round eyes are very effective in this piece.
Maybe a hint of highlights on the eyes and nose would give them some more depth.
Nice work!

Re: Project Discussion: Dogs, Dogs, And More Dogs!
Dave, Thank you. Darn glare is obscuring the highlights on his eyes and nose.
All black animals are hard! Thanks again for the direction here. Starting to find my way!

I'll be doing an 11x14, oil painting.
When I get started I'll post something in the progress area of the projects!
Thanks, Mag

Wow!!
I love your colors; a wide varity yet they compose a consistant theme.
Excellent proportions as well.
You've done a great job rendering this dog.
Well done !

Another display of beautiful colors; very vivid and unique! They give him a real personality!
You've done an excellent job on the proportions as well.
I think the right eye should be darkend slightly; it looks rather washed out.
Maybe a background of some kind will give it a nice look
Nice job on this one!

Excellent job on that fur; gives him a lot of character.
The placing of darks and lights is superb as well.

Another lovely piece!
I especially like how you've made the indications of some facial mussles here and there.
Nice work!
