Ads in the posts?

Maybe I'm really out of the loop and I have no idea what has already been talked about, but I have a question...
Why are some words in the posts underlined and hyperlinked to advertising websites for these products?
For instance, in a post I put up today, when I re-read the post later, the word "laser printer" was underlined and linked to a site selling laser printers. I know I didn't do that.
Can someone tell me what's up?

Wow, that's strange! I've never seen anything like that!

You got spy-ware, Girl!

Google 'ad-aware' and 'spy-bot' and run them both on your PC.

Same thing happened to me a few months back and running these two spyware/ adware removers weekly, keeps the crap in check.

PS: I think lavasoft.com is where I downloaded my ad-aware.

Also, make sure your virus subscriptions and definitions are up to date and run that as well.

Re: Ads in the posts?

Morning Kristen
Here's a good link from the site owner, Scott.

"More of you have spyware installed than you know!"
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=212112
From the Site Announcements page.

I use three different Adware/Spyware remover programs. One I really like is AntiVir and it's free, do a Google search for it.
Good luck,
Beth

Wow, that really sucks! That was a brief thought after I posted that last night.
Thanks so much Mary and Beth. I'll check those things out. Will this help my computer speed back up as well? It's soooo slow and we have a cable modem!
