Marla Olmstead on CBS Sunday morning news show

Anybody else see her this morning? I noticed she was using Liquitex Basics acrylic paint. She used it from jars, tubes, and condiment bottles. She had some normal brushes and some huge brushes, like 7 inches wide. Her father asked her what she was thinking when she painted one of her paintings, and she yelled "Nothing!" For big canvases, her father holds her above the canvas. Marla calls it "flying." The man who bought her first painting said a lot of parents have bought their kids paint. An "expert" said that "logically I thought it was impossible for these to have been painted by a 4 year old." She compared Marla to Kandinsky, Pollack, and Monet. One collector said the paintings express Marla's soul. They showed Marla at her one woman show. She had to leave early because it was her bed time.

I did see that show. (In fact I try to never miss "Sunday Morning" ). Here's a link:

The video on tv showed little Marla "flying" over the canvas, pushing paint. All quite incredible.

Thanks for the link spyderbabe.
I'd never heard of this young girl, but I'm glad I have now, her work is amazing. I love her painting, 'Lollipop'.
After seeing her site, I have the urge to get my 3yr old nephew some paints and a few canvases. LOL

Cass.
