Re: Mind Games
Wayne ,
the colors are magnificant , a play with light for sure!
not sure about the line(shape)of the boat, somewhat crooked or
maybe it's the nautical fashion in Nw foundland

Re: Mind Games
Mm, the reflection of the boat looks a bit wonky to me. Also, the water beside the boat is moving, while it looks still next to the dock.
The colors are lovely and rich, though. Why do you call it Mind Games?

Re: Mind Games
piper2 .. because it's a mind game .. a white boat wouldn't reflect yellow, a yelllow dock wouldn't reflect red, the boat is out of perspective, the shadow is out of whack .. it's just a painting about razzle dazzle .. sort of about the worth of a diamond .. just pretty to look at and that is all ..

See, I don't think that that the colors looks that bizarre at all, actually. Depending on the quality of the water (depth, time of day, relative murkiness), I think that the reflections could really be those colors. I'm not sure that the concept that you're playing with the viewer's mind jumps out at me. But I'll wait and see what other commentors say.

Re: Mind Games
I didn't see a boat at first until I read Caroline's comment.
I just saw an abstract.
Strange isn't it ?
As they say usual with abstracts ... nice colors

Re: Mind Games
Great work Wayne, yes..something very different. I really love it the more I look at it. Funny how people see different things. I saw the boat straight away and I find the idea and composition and different colour reflections very interesting.

Yeah, same here. It just looked like abstract forms to me initially. I read "boat" and said, "What??" lol. I agree with the artist that the reflection colors, etc. would count as "mind games". I don't see how you could get that particular combination naturally, although I'd like to see someone try to set it up without using theatrical lighting :-)

Re: Mind Games
minimilist dali. It is slightly surreal, but maybe a touch too heavy in a few spots.
