Question Bifocal Stick-ons

Hi Y'all,

Does anyone here know where you can get some bifocal stick-ons? I have seen some lampworkers who put them on their Didys. I have looked all around locally, no luck. Online they cost over $20 + shipping. Maybe I'm being cheap, but that sounds like a lot of money for a couple of stickers.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Melissa

Hi Ya!
Nurse Katie visited with me and had a pair...and told me Mari Johnson sells them on her site...In fact I just bought some...they haven't come yet...but here is the link
clip on magnifiers

I am soon to be 44 and I am finding I am close to needing these, some days more than others.

So I had to try em...Katie says they are great!

You can purchase the same thing for several dollars less here.

No affiliation - just saving a buck when I can.

Re: Bifocal Stick-ons

I think I should mention that none of the above links go to the STICK ON type made by Optic something or other. I have and use about 7 pair of them. I have them in all my fishing shades and all three of my glass working glasses. Once you getthem in the correct place on your lens they work very very well. I normally wear half glasses anyway so I am used to tilting my head for the magnification. We discussed this some months back so a search should turn up more info.

hmmmmmmm those are cool to...but until my eyes even out...I better off with clip on...

do this style come off once they are put on? I find it hard to stick them on my glasses, so no one else can use them in the studio....not that I want anyone to use my glasses...but if they did need to...the clip on's come right off.

Well I considered both when I figured out I needed to get something or I was going to set my forehead on fire!

I choose the clip-on because you could easily flip them up out of the way and them back down, where these, you would need to stop working and replace them on the lense.

Clip on's were half the price and seemed easier, for this application anyhow.

I buy them either at WalMart (about 8.75) or at the welding supply store (Airgas) for about 12.00

Re: Bifocal Stick-ons

Hi Guys, greetings from Kangaroo Island, if you don't know where that is, it's off the coast of South Australia and even down here in the isolated southern ocean we have heard of "stick ons" In fact mine arrived last week and are great. I purchased from www.debspecs.com they are stuck onto my furnace working glasses and allow me to work beads right up close.
cheers, Bernard

Re: Bifocal Stick-ons

I ordered from this company
http://www.optx2020.com/index.cfm?page=prod&catid=1

Had my lenes two days after calling. Ordered the safety lens after talking to the sales rep. They will let you know if there is a store in your area selling these, some Walmarts do carry them. I only paid $16 + shipping $2. They had a sell that was not advertized on the website.
