Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter Girl in Boots - Figure drawing

Last pose in a recent figure drawing session at our studio. This one was a ten minute pose drawn with 6B graphite and smudge stick on 12x18 newsprint.

Other 1 minute and 2 minute poses I did of this great model are posted in the Figure section. Thanks for having a look.

Wow! Tom...that was quick! I'd be still considering it if it were me! I need to learn more about how to draw the human form and intend doing so. Very commendable. Well done.

Quick? You call that QUICK? I call it faster than the speed of light!!! That's amazing!! How did you get SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much detail done in 10 mins? You would be great at lighting campfires without matches!!
Well done!!

beautifully drawn--did anyone notice that she looks like Helen Hunt? --only nude with boots?

Re: Girl in Boots - Figure drawing

Gosh guys, you make me blush.

I guess the 10 and 15 minutes poses (which are usually the last of sessions to give the artists a chance to wind down and the model a chance to relax) seem luxurious compared to the single digit minutes that we start the session with. Shorter poses tend to be more strenuous and harder for the model to hold and even harder for the artist to capture the form. But I guess that's what keeps you fresh and loose.

Re: Girl in Boots - Figure drawing

Even 10 min poses I find hard to get as far as the toes...let alone put boots on her....and you draw so beautifully!!

Re: Girl in Boots - Figure drawing

Excellent work, Tom. It takes me 10 minutes to get the pencils out of the box, let alone draw anything...

Re: Girl in Boots - Figure drawing

deepat:
There is less detail in boots - at least your not drawing all ten toes and making it look some what natural. Feet, hands - they're tough to draw! By the way the lighting was organized by one of our studio mates. He did a great job!

SILKNSATIN, mbeckett: Thank you, guys. I'm out-drawn by many around me when it comes to the paying jobs - when it counts to be fast!

Re: Girl in Boots - Figure drawing

When I mentioned lighting campfires...I meant that your pencil must go so fast you get sparks off it...which could light a campfire!!!!

Re: Girl in Boots - Figure drawing

I get it now, Deirdre! I guess my brain doesn't work as fast as my pencil.
