Re: Miscellany
nice to see...lots of energy and feeling...simplified complexity...
I like the feel especially squinting my eyes looking at it....

Re: Miscellany
linen weave?
I like your reserve for where heaviest texture will play out.
From my times visiting relatives down there...I can feel in this work the weightiness of the sand....how it gives beneath the feet and how vegetation somehow grows and survives on it, in it, through it.
Looking forward to seeing yet more! Appreciate your sharing these!
Must be very hot this time of year...so early morning and later in late afternoon or evening seems to be the order of the day for painting I would think.
take care

Re: Miscellany
These paintings are so very different from most of what is posted here.
I find myself quite drawn to them and would like to know a bit about
them...where they were painted (or what served as the inspiration),
how long, color palette...you know, the "typical" stuff.
Then again, maybe the mystery is part of the allure...

Re: Miscellany
In answer, I'm a painter in oil, and live in Orlando USA. These paintings are meaningless, simple moments, like breathing, and bursting through barriers, maybe, sometimes, but I don't pay attention to note anything. They are my failures, erratic behaviour, and spontaneous savouring of chaos. They're warm embraces of a savage garden, and reflection of souls as I viewed them. But they have no story, these seques, unless it's of friendship with the wind -- I just paint them by the roadside, and then give them away.
Thanks for the comments.

Re: Miscellany
Very nice textural elements and blue/orange complement use on that first one, Richard, and the moodiness of the second. Have you been painting plein air for a long time? Looking foward to more!

Starting of Art Village
Hello,
I'm looking to start a group of artist banded together, but I'm not entirely sure how to go about doing this. Anyone know of any histories of art colonies that may offer some hints? rDoes anyone have any suggestions or feedback they could offer?
Thanks in advance,
Dave Smith

Hello Dave,
This thread is a a miscellaneous collection of paintings -- but you can start a new thread on that thought.
