HI Everybody!!!! I´m starting my second drawing in pencil and I´m very pleased to share it with you, hoping again to receive c&c from you in order to correct things and make it easier. You were very helpful for me in my previous drawing. Thank you a lot ...

Nice start... I like the light in the eyes. A very expresive ref pic as well. You should check the size of the mouth and the left eye (viewer's left).
Success!
Hans

Re: 2º Portraiture in pencil, WIP, need c&c

Ho , I had little time draw, but here is another post. I´ve made some changes on her right side of the face, I lifted it up a bit . But now I think there is something odd. The two eyes don´t match each other...Wich changes I should do ¿?¿ Thank a lot.
Drawing and changing little things does make great differences...sometime good and sometimes not , isn´t it ?
William

Hi William!

Take a ruler and lightly draw a line through the center of the eyes, perpendicular to the nose, then you'll know what to do. i think it's (her) left eye that's too low.

You are doing very well!

Teeth - I hate teeth and try to avoid drawing them, but unfortunately people have them!

Just a hint of shadows and very little indication of each tooth...try that first before you do much more. Less is better.

I think it is a very good likeness and has a lot of personality.

Re: 2º Portraiture in pencil, WIP, need c&c

I think your doing great and I'm not sure if what i am going to show you will help. Try looking at the curvature of the face. I ahve added some lines to your reference photo and they might help. teeth, oh I hate drawing teeth. Remeber they are not flat. They are rounded and curved in the mouth UNLESS you are looking straight on at your sitter. In the reference photo her head is back some so her teeth won't be straight across her mouth. Also, try to NOT make sharp lines defining each tooth. Draw a really light line showing wher the teeth come together. VERY light. If its' dark it will really stand out. From that point you and suggest each tooth by, again, LIGHTLY suggesting each tooth and then shading them to match the flow of light. Sorry, I got all carried away and I hope I didn't confuse you. My wife says I don't knwo when to shut up. Regardless, your doing well so don't stop or give up and NEVER be afraid to take what you learn and start a piece over again. Peace!!

Re: 2º Portraiture in pencil, WIP, need c&c

Hi , thanks for all your comments and tips !!! They are a guide for me .
I continued a bit more . I think I´m near the end . ( I ´m bit tired and want to start another also)
Do you think it is nearly completed or it need much more things to add¿? May I leave the background white or I should do a kind of fading or something like that¿? What do you think about the teeth (It was a nightmare!!)
I´m learning and I know Im far of doing it photorealistis as some people do it at wetcanvas. IDols of drawing!!!
Well I m hearing from you , please ..
Thanks a lot

William

Unless you are planning on making her hair dark, you are finished. Beautiful job. She is lovely to look at.

Re: 2º Portraiture in pencil, WIP, need c&c

I think you've doen a super job, William, especially considering the amount of detail in the photo that you had to work with. Maybe start with a better and larger photo next time.
Best wishes,
Nora
