Daphnia

Black paper - white ink - ca. 9" x 12"

Half an hour - sketch (well, for me that's fast).
I'm not too happy. The white ink is not as strong as I would like it to be, the sketch is neither of illustrative nor of artistic quality.

The white on black gives a nice transparency to this little flea

Yes, I tried to achieve an effect similar to dark-field microscopy.

Thanks for looking.

Well, that's about my speed too for sketching

I think you've done well for it being just a sketch. Have you ever thought of trying scratchboard??

Like in Coloured Pencil?

I don't think so, because the ink particles should be adhered so firmly that there is no 'blending'. I thought (think) about trying to combine line and brushwork, though.

Thanks! Well, I haven't thought of trying scratchboard yet ... Seems another world to me.

cheers
