***THE DAILY WASH***Wednesday, July 14
I'm baaaaack! Got home Monday evening about 7:30 pm and got out of bed today about 3 pm. Read all about Thelma and Louise's Excellent Adventure here and see photos of the wonderful watercolorists meeting at Uschi's:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...66#post2504766
I haven't read any of the Washes yet, so will come back and comment after I catch up a bit. I know it's a bit early to start the WASH, but I couldn't wait!
May your today be better than your yesterday!

Re: ***THE DAILY WASH***Wednesday, July 14
Hi all, and welcome back Lyn
Have just returned from the funeral. What a fitting tribute to a lovely gentleman. People came from far and wide to pay their last respects, and it was a great time of catching up with friends and relations that we hadn't seen for a while. MIL was wonderful, very peaceful and strong.
Thank you all for your caring thoughts, white light and prayers.
Am very tired now, going to put my feet up and eat the left-overs of afternoon tea

Morning Washgangeroos!!
Just got out the shower - nothing really to report....lol.....as for Marvin - he had a party in my room last night with some of his friends - there must have been about 6 of them flying around my room - I had to throw one out for getting out of hand.
Waving to everyone and sending hugs and love all around

Re: ***THE DAILY WASH***Wednesday, July 14
Morning all.....after a lovely sunny day yesterday we are back to rain today, just for a change ..........Had 2 emails from a recruitment agency I put my CV onto, they have sent 1 to a Company on their books who have a vacancy as a store manager. Doesn't sound too bad actually, it's not a big store, and what does it sell?....... CHOCOLATE ..........A new concept store opening a few branches, a bit of a trek, but moneys excellent.......... The other, is a store merchandiser doing instore displays which I love to do....... keeping my fingers crossed for a Interveiws now
Sylvia.......I know just how your daughter feels, that's the exact same reason I didn't really want to go back into retail. I worked trough the system in top retail store to management, worked 24/7 with no thanks and no extra money.....Of course would love to do anything creative, but don't have teh qualifications. Have looked into Graphic Design, but it would mean 4yrs full time study, and even if I could manage it, I would probably be to old to be employed by then, they tend to want young people here for those sort of jobs...........I've more or less decided to go back into retail whilst studying Web Design. My brother has a Computer Business, and gets lots of private work he has to turn down.
JJ.Hows you smelly quilt
Lyn..Glad to see you back, sounds like you had a great time. Sorry to hear about your fall, how it mends quickly
Morning Vasil..are you coming to Kington?....
Waveing to Otter and Jana and JT
Lulu.....So glad it went off ok, and your MIL was able to be strong.....Isn't it wonderful when people turn out like that.....I remember when my ex's uncle died, he was such a loved man, it was amazing how many people turned up. They were queueing outside the church.....(((((((( to you and all your family))))))
Pat....lol..marvins friends

Stephie Good Luck on the Interviews!!!!!!!!!!!
Smelly quilt still smelly, on patio.. Been thinking of peroxide solution, but have you any idea how big a Kingsized Doona is , and how MANY bubbles I am going to need to cover it.. A heck of a lot more than a dog.. So I shall wait until I get the car and take it to the laundromat with a bottle of liquid prewash and sosme Omomatic powder..

Re: ***THE DAILY WASH***Wednesday, July 14
Good morning Washonians...
Thought for the Day:
"We Learn ...
10% of what we read
20% of what we hear
30% of what we see
50% of what we see and hear
70% of what we discuss with others
80% of what we experience personally
95% of what we teach someone else." - William Glasser
I worked a bit on my painting last evening... 6 roses/buds done... 6 more to go... then the leaves... and the background... may have bit off a little more than I can chew...
Loud, crashing, light-filled thunderboomers raged through SW Ontario during the night... The air is significantly cooler this morning, but no less humid...
This is, of course, a workday... and I have an accupuncture appointment this morning... Mailing off the post-dated cheques for Magoo's trip to France this morning, as well... Then I need to gather information for his Passport application and get that mailed away...
Jlyn... it's too bad that you'll miss your trip to Kington... but you've made the right choice... there will be other WC meetings... ((()))
MA... it's so good to have you back... You ARE a Grade A Apple...
Em... I'm so sorry about your bunny (somehow I totally missed that)... ((()))... Looking forward to your next floral... It's been a long time and you've really been missed...
Lyn... Glad you and Erin made it back all in one piece, albeit swollen and sore... What a wonderful time we had on Saturday... And your whole trip sounds like it was super-duper!
JJ... did you ever watch *Friends*??? Phoebe's song comes to mind...
Smelley, cat; smell-ey cat... what have they been feeding you?
 to Otter, Vasil and Jana...
Lulu and MIL... ((()))
JT... your moth pic was wonderful... wish it was sharper in focus... I've started a folder on my hard drive for Bug pics...
 to Pat...
Stephie... NOW that's positive news... crossing all appendages that you'll get some interviews...
I'm off to the Gallery and then to work... Have a creative and happy day, everyone!!!
p.s. JoAnn... my Wash screen isn't W-I-D-E this morning... hoping the same for you...

Re: ***THE DAILY WASH***Wednesday, July 14
Good afternnon everyone.
It's been a dull overcast day today - no sun, but no rain.
Typing this on my new laptop via wireless network. Been busy this morning installing my camera software and upgrade patches - finally got it to communicate with my laptop.
Now to install Photoshop elements and paintshop pro. Why both? Because psp has two excellent features - a super fast file browser and a colour replacer brush which allows you to paint over one colour with another - so useful.
Then I'll break off and go and set up my house portrait. I have put together a photo and have told the client to expect trees to be moved etc so the house can be seen properly.
Enjoyed yesterday's battle of the sexes - always fun to discuss our strengths and weaknesses
Sorry Jlyn can't make it to Kington, but we'll arrange a mini get-together in Knareborough in the next 2 months.
Bye for now, BBL,
Doug
