Very interesting.
The same painting on your webpages shows more intense lighting.
Could be based on a study of Rembrandt's "Nightwatch".

strong composition. the light on the face is particularly well done. the glow in the bottom left doesn't read as well for me; needs a smoother blending or you could leave it out altogether
