How to silver line a 3/32 bead???

I would really appreciate if anyone could help me with this. I have been traveling around lately and haven't made much glass but I am back on the jewelry train for an order. I know this really dresses up a nice bead and isn't the same look as a bead cap. Artist support from this site has helped me so many times already.....I hope someone can come through again. Many thanks,
Sky

Sky, I'm confused which is nothing new but, what do you mean when you say 'silver line' a bead? Are you referring to a silver coloring around the mandrel hole, or actually having a silver insert in the mandrel hole, or .....?
Thanks, Bill

I think you might be talking about inserting a tube rivet in the hole. This is something I'd like to try myself, but haven't figured out what size silver tubing to buy yet. When I try it, I plan to start with beads I don't really care about, just in case... I've got plenty of those! You can learn about riveting technique in basic metalsmithing books.

Roberta, I take you are talking about making the bead onto the tube/rivet rather than inserting it into the bead afterward? Bill

Here are some links about this - putting rivets into beads after making them.

Thank you guys so much.........Someone always comes through for me!
I am looking into ways to rivet without a dapping punch because they seem to be so costly. The links that were sent for this question were particularly helpful. thanks again.......If there is anything I can help you all with......Just ask me
Sky. BTW-------Bill that bead is beautiful that you have on the bay the silver insert looks so professional. If you have anymore info let me have it.

Re: How to silver line a 3/32 bead???

Well I bought silver tubing after practicing with copper. The tubing came and it's way too big. I didn't know how to order the correct size. Does anyone have some helpful advice?
