I'll LIFT UP MY HANDS

Someone here asked that I share my gift of poetry, This is my favorite, This one received an Editor's Choice Award presented by the International Library of Poetry, and is published in their book, as well as several of my pieces.
Hope you enjoy:, And I also, included my painting, which has been resized, so I hope I can post it here, It goes with the poem.

I'LL LIFT UP MY HANDS

I'll lift up my hands, To Glory on High
Sing out his praises, Till the day that I die,
Go down on my knees, Humbled and in vain
Praising my Saviour, And His Holy Name.

I've met with His Presence, Face to Face
Filled with His Mercy, and Saved by His Grace,
Saved by the Blood, That He shed for me
Promised His Kingdom, Through all Eternity.

For this debt that I owe Him
I can never repay,
For HE lay down His Life
For mine, That day.

Yes, I 'll lift up my hands To Glory on High
Sing out his Prasies, Till the day that I die,
Go down on my knees, Humbled, and in vain
Praising my Saviour and His HOLY NAME,
Yes Praising my JESUS, And His HOly Name.

The picture shown here, does not do any justice to the real painting itself. Don't know what I am am doing wrong with the camera, I'll blame it on the camera

Re: I'll LIFT UP MY HANDS

The poem and painting both are inspirational. I love the poem which could also be a prayer, and your painting reflects that poem very well. Thank you for sharing this with us

I know what you mean about cameras. They either get it right or very wrong. What photo sweep program are you using. I use Image Expert which allows me to adjust the contrast and colors closer to what the original piece shows.

Thank you Charissa and Felica, for your kind compliments, actually I wrote this as a song, and have several offers to put it to music. I have many poems, mostly Religious, as with my paintings, Thank you again
God Bless you

I wanted to add that the photo here, doesnt even come close to the painting itself. I take alot of pride in this painting, I hate that it looks so terrible here,
I lost my sight in my right eye, thats why all my paintings tend to lean a bit,
Thanks again
Iris

A wonderful prayer/poem Iris.

I too love to write in praise of Him - but alas, not as marvellously as you do I do Him justice.

thanks for sharing & inspiring.

Re: I'll LIFT UP MY HANDS

interesting to see the diversity of artists. One art form often lends itself to the other...just like one artist can spark things in others.

Nicely done....

BIKI
I've written poetry from age 13, I consider it a gift, I can't seem to Glorify His name enough. I'd love to hear some of yours too. I have one called "THE OLD CRUEL TREE", I wish I could paint a tree to go with it, lol, but up close trees, are very hard. lol
Thank you so much for the beautiful compliment, Biki.

Larry

Yes, isnt it wonderful that in this world of ours today, that
people can share their thoughts and compliment others, as to their works? I find this very heart warming, and Have seen more of it here on WC, than in my lifetime.
Our gifts are mutual, and also where we obtained them from.
God Bless you Both
Iris

Oh, Iris......I'm sitting her with tears
streaming down my face.
Your beautiful poem has touched me deeply.
Thanks you for sharing it, I so admire poets,
I have words but none that I can put together as you have.

What a gift!
Congratulations on your award.

This is truly an awesome forum
that I appreciate EVEN more
given these times of unbelievers increasing

Your painting brings emotion as well...bless you
