Holy Cow!!!

I could look at this for a long, long time. The beautifully done detail in the violets, and the design on the edges of the tray and on the pot.......the patterns are so pleasing and satisfying.

I think what I liked the very best was that I could look at it as a whole, and enjoy the beautiful reflections and the flowers and the pot.......but.....my eye is also drawn to the detailed shapes and patterns and I enjoyed those just as much, seeing them as an abstract.

Whew!!! 60 hours! Bravo.....a tour de force!

This is wonderful and worth every minute you worked on it. Verrrrry impressive. Do you spend that much time on each piece?

Hi Arlene, I just had to come back to take a second look at this. And I was wondering, since you have so often told us that you don't paint, what do you call this? I mean that as a serious question--I certainly would not call it a drawing--just wondered how you would define it.

Good question Phyllis...it's not painting in the sense I don't use brushes, but...I would still call it a drawing...maybe a fine art drawing? Your guess is as good as mine...

Thanks Leaf...I'm onto the next one...another floral, then another still life after that...think I'm hooked on the colored pencils?

Hmmmmmm............I guess if you say paint is done with a brush and drawing is done with a pencil, then it's a drawing. But if painting is about masses and drawing is about lines, then I'd call it a painting. Or we can just call it good !!!
