How to paint ripples in water

First time trying out this part of WC, hope everything works right.
I am trying to paint a mountain stream which will pour into a small pond. I know the ripples will be circular but am having trouble painting the colors of the ripples.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Nacre,

Thanks for the answer, no I have not yet started my main picture, I am just dabbling and practicing on scraps of small (8X11) paper.

How would I submit a picture for comments?

Re: How to paint ripples in water

even if you haven't started your main painting if you had a good example of your dabbling you could post that for comments and help. Do you have a scanner or digital camera ?? as first you have to get the dabbling image into your computer then size it to no more than 500 pixels wide and 600 high and 100 or less KB. If that is no problem , then you go to the watercolour gallery and start a new thread and and then on the top of the page ( right side) you will find quick links click on that and you will find the image uploader there. as I don't know what your computer skills are I wont give you any more info til I hear from you again as you may know more than I do. Do let me know how you make out.
