Copyright

I came across an image in the reference library that had a copyright stamped on it. Therefore I feel hesitant in using the image.

My understanding of the images in the reference library is that it really is free reign for those who access the library in how they use the image. In that the image is there for the generation of art and therefore should have no restrictions.

What are your thoughts?

There should be no images in the ref library with a copyright symbol on it. If it belongs to a member here, they should remove the copyright notice before uploading, or at least put a short message in the description of the image saying that it is ok. If it doesn't belong to a member here, let Ivy know so she can remove it ...

They may be mine (no copyright symbol, just my webpage)... and while there are no restrictions to the use of the photo for artwork, the photo itself may not be duplicated. Because of the size of images uplaoded would be large enough for someone to take and then make 8"x10" prints (or larger) from I have begun to put my webpage on there to reduce potential theft of the photos. If this is a problem (Scott or Ivy?) I will remove those photos and only upload poor quality photos (blurry, etc.) that I don't think anyone would ever want to take for reproduction.

Could be mine even. I do have a note that it okay to use them at the bottom. Cleared it with Ivy years ago.
