Somebody Posted once about G. Bogard

I searched for information on paintings by G. Bogard via Google for my aunt. That was how I found this forum. She bought a few of his paintings years ago at a swap meet, and is trying to find info about the artist. Aparently there is a series of paintings called the 'Trail of Tears' and whomever it was that replied to the question had posted of a painting that was sold on Ebay. When my wife and I saw the pic on Ebay, it was Very Clearly the same artist.

No other info was available at the time though and I would like to find more. Bogard's paintings look like old West style with Indian motifs. I've tried searching for 'Trail of Tears' but to no avail.

Anybody out there able to shed any light on this?

Thanks
Greetings from Sunny San Diego

I also have a painting by B. GogarD. It is a four war chief painting with a wood frame. I haven't been able to find out anything about this artist.

Re: Somebody Posted once about G. Bogard

I purchased a G. Bogard painting around 1988. It is a painting with an Indian face in the clouds and a train coming on a track with the cowboys moving the cattle across the tracks. I have also been looking for information about him.

Re: Somebody Posted once about G. Bogard

There was a previous thread about G Bogard in the Art History forum with a couple of pictures. It's at http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...ghlight=bogard
The last post in the thread says that G Bogard was a pseudonym.

Re: Somebody Posted once about G. Bogard

Greetings from L.A.!

I just went to an antique fair and bought some lithos along with a large canvas painting of a Mountain Man coming down a mountain with western hill motif in the b/g. There is also a Native following the Mountain Man. The painting is signed by G. Bogard. I'm also interested in knowing who he is.

Looked up on search engine and found a Gerald Edward Bogard who died just recently Nov. 1, 2007 at age 72. Could this be the painter? He's from L.A. area and lived in Riverside for 41 years.

Let me know!

Many thanks!

Re: Somebody Posted once about G. Bogard

HI,

Just join moments ago. I have a large oil painting from G. Bogard that matched simular to (digits75) in this thread. Pretty amazing. I can not seem to find much about this artist. I hope I will. I purchased this painting from the former CEO of Coopers & Lybrant in the early 1990's. Not sure on how to do attachments yet. Any thoughts?

I bought 3 G. Bogard paintings in the mid 80's in South Florida.
