Buster the Cat
Hello everyone. Happy Easter! It has been a while since I have posted. I have been so busy with the opening of the new Costco Store here in Coeur D Alene, I havn't had much time to paint. Finally managed to get to my Easel. 11 x 14 on (Masonite) Claybord orginal smooth by Ampersand.
It's another cat!.

great job and the fur looks real...did you use only the airbrush or some hairy sticks as well?

Henk thank you! I used the same method Sam uses except my hairy sticks are "rake or Combs"

Very good! I am very impressed. I just love the eyes. You did a very good job on the fur as well. I have been out of the WC office for a while and just opened the door and this is what I came home to see.

Donna, greetings from way down here in Lewiston. Great job on Buster, He look like the picture of complete contentment! I've never tried clayboard, but would like to give it a shot soon.

Terrific work on the cat! I've got one sitting here on my computer desk with the same expression on its face.We have a dozen of them.

Donna, this is awesome! Ole' Buster looks happy and content under his bush/tree! I love how you captured his peacefulness. Those eyes are are beautiful!
I still have not started a new painting on the masonite, but I will!
I use rakes as well, when I'm painting very, very fine and short hair like any short hair breed of dog. You can make very nice hair strokes as well with the rake by turning it sideways and using the edge! They are great brushes.

Sorry I didn't reply to this before I ran away Donna but I'm back now. I really like this, you did a great job. I'm curious, you are using clayboard but opted not to use scratching on it? Any particular reason why?

Actually the white flowers and the cats whiskers and ear hairs are scratched. But in general I perfer not to scratch on this surface, it leaves the surface rough. The Claybord without scratching is a glass like surface which I love.
