Hails from United States
Raven and the First Men

"Raven was on the beach one day, and found an enormous clamshell. it was partially open, and he could see people peering from within. Raven hopped up and encouraged the people to come out and join him in his world. Hesitantly, they emerged and became the first Haida."

I *love* PNW First Nations art and legends. I've been reading books and making a great study of Tlingit, Haida, and Kwaquitl art, trying to learn the basics of it. This Raven story is one of my favorites, along with Natsilane and the creation of killer whales. I may have to try that one, too.

Glad to see you got your eyes uncrossed featherlady so that you could create this lovely drawing
Very interesting to read about the legend too.

Cool

GREAT piece featherlady I've always loved native art. They always have a story or legend behind them. Such interesting art pieces. Yours goes along with the story real well.

Very nice work. I really like the patterns and bold lines of the clamshell.
