[Lorijo]

Painted this in Heathcote Botanical Gardens, its oil, knife and 12 x 16. I want to work on the values a bit more and make things pop. It was for my husband, he wanted ALL the details.

The second is at Peterson's Grove, painted it yesterday. I like it the best of the three. 12 x 16, oil knife.

The third is Pelican Island, painted it with the Plein Air club. It sold all ready so I can't make any changes. Its oil, knife and 18 x 24.

Lori, I love all those details in the first one! Please show it again after you do whatever fixes you had in mind. The red barn is wonderful; I like the way it's situated in the composition, and how well it works with the greens. Nice job balancing it with the red-flowering tree on the left. So happy for you that the third one is already sold. Woohoo!

gosh,does the weather ever change
in your part of the world?

fantastic paintings all 3!!!

the last one is my favourite
but don't like the placing of the bird
(egret?) right under the trees

what i like about nr2 is the sun hitting
the objects hard,you cought that sooo well!!
especially in the bush

really like the textures on nr 1,
but the sky is blue
and the scene looks overcast
could be a big cloud?

i'm not surprised you sold,
those people have a real Lorijo
nobody paints like you,bravo

Thanks Rob! It changes from minute to minute! The last three days have been 15 to 20 mile an hour winds, mainly overcast. Lots of white horses in the river, I am hoping to paint some tomorrow in the wind. Been having to run about like a nut lately.

I would have rather had the egret somewhere else too, but the customers liked it so there he stays! Lorijo

Wonderful - bright and fresh and colorful - an eyeful to one who is still looking at brown -

I like all three, but I especially like the 2nd one - the sunlight on the upturned palm fronds is excellent!

Wow, Lori! Thank you for posting the link. You have some beautiful photos there. The gardens remind me of a tropical version of the Hammond Japanese Stroll Gardens that we have here in North Salem. I painted there a few times last year and will go back when the iris' are in bloom again. You did such a good job with the texture of that stone lantern-like thingy. That did me in when I tried it, but I'm going to bring the same painting back this year and just keep working on it year after year until I get it right!
