Re: Schooner

This is gorgeous! I love your use of color and the subtle suggestion of the sails, which seems so perfectly in keeping with the feel of the painting.

Re: Schooner

Hi watercolorbill,
What an interesting piece - I love the play of vertical strokes in the sky versus the diagonal sea, with repetition of colour in both. The browns of the schooner scream for attention amongst all the blues and the masts mimic the sky strokes beautifully. Really nice work.

Re: Schooner

Hi Watercolorbill
I really like this and like Jamie said the slight suggestion of sails is perfect. Just enough lines to hint of her gaff rig. The reflections are great. I have struggled with that aspect often. Looking forward to more of your work.
Dick

Well done. Particularly the looseness, which is just right, not sloppy.

Re: Schooner

Bill, this is an excellent painting. Such simple lines and limited palette but it works really well. What a serene painting.

Re: Schooner

This is the type of painting that makes me appreciate watercolor. I paint in an opaque acrylic method. But you have created a mood here that is hard to accomplish with out watercolor. I love the warm summer hazey day feeling. the streaks of vertical color in the sky adds a lot to the mood. I love it!
