Cool of flesh or stone ~ WIP

size of this scan 4"X6"
time so far 1hr
Canson Mi-Teintes paper blue-gray
Prismacolor pencils black,cool gray,warm gray,white
I will work on this drawing/sketch two more hours to get what I want

Thom - It is good to see that you are back at it!

The prisma pencil on smoky blue paper does have a nice 18thC feel to it. Quite elegant.

I'm curious - what was your subject matter? It looks like it is from a Greek statue.

The one I was reading about is close, but not quite it. Still, it does show that you have really caught the right mood.

This statue is known as the Knidian aphrodite.

It is surprising what you can do with only a couple of colors.

Thom does have this "statue" right at the point where it looks like it has started to "come alive". Nicely done, Thom!
