What are you using. Canson, Sanded paper. It appears to have a thickness to it. geri

Lots going on in this portrait. It is hard to see from the small image but you've handled it nicely.

The head dress could have taken all the attention, but you minimized it's impact to concentrate on the face. However, with such a strong highlight on the face, the fabric upon his head should have captured more light and shadow as it turns in toward the face.

The highlights on the flesh also appear to be too white. Even if the model had these high highlights, they are very reflective.

Working a bit larger will also give you more room to paint and explore the intriguing attributes of this model.
