Di: Thank you for the kind comment. I think you'll really like Marblex. It's a step above homemade doughs in its permanency and a step or two below bronze in its beauty and durability. It is really fun to work with (not too sticky, not too dry, smoothes well with water, dries slowly and to a rock-hardness, and can be painted or "waxed" most any color you want). I haven't tried the bread and glue dough yet, but have heard it was fun. Figure I'll do that one of these times. My sister made salt dough when I was really little, and it held up fairly well after baking. Unfortunately, though, I ate quite a bit of the dough. Not a good idea.
Maybe that explains a lot about my current state of mind.
Premnath: I don't really see how I could be of much help to you in developing your art, since I'm just starting out in sculpture myself. This cat was my first piece done with "real" clay. Right now, I'm working on a wolf. I've never carved wax before, but have been meaning to try it. I'd love to see some of your artwork and hope you post some of it here in this forum for us to see. I'd especially love to see a photo of some of the houses you've done in clay. That sounds very interesting. I love looking at various architectural styles. By all means, if you need help with anything, be sure to post your questions on Wet Canvas. I have no doubt whatsoever that someone here would be of assistance. Also, if I can answer any questions about Marblex or about how I did this cat, fire away. I'll tell you all I know....which isn't much.
