geometric II

This is the third in a series of geometric paintings I have been doing on square canvases. I really enjoy them and use them as an exercise in colour also. The first two can be found here.

All and any comments are welcome. They are all 12x12 gallery-wrap canvases.

Re: geometric II

Wow JMF, this is fantastic, incredible sense of depth, great color scheme too, looks like an old fashioned toy puzzle.

Re: geometric II

Hi Jan,
Another wonderful piece, looks really great. These three together would make a fabulous display. Love the depth you have achieved.

Re: geometric II

Thank you Faded and Marty. I have rather gone off the first one - it seems to be too crude and simplistic, so I have the second and third ones on the wall now.

Do you think I should paint more?

Re: geometric II

I think you should paint more of these geometric shapes in art and design has always intrigued me.

Keep up the good work.

Re: geometric II

Hi JMF,

I like this piece. It's quite hypnotic. I can't seem to drag my eye away from the centre. One thing I did notice (via my periphial vision and sorry if this is spelt wrong) the point on the right looks inverted where as all the rest don't. (I couldn't think of the opposite of inverted ) I wonder whether the shading on this point is darker than the rest which gives that impression.

Keep 'em coming.

Re: geometric II

Thanks for the comments - I am indeed thinking of doing another one once I get my current project finished. It's nice to know people enjoy them!

I think I will go with the blues next time.
