Hails from United States
Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter "Hair" - ( pencil sketch)

I used to rely on reference photos quite often. (from fashion magazines).

This was a sketch that was inspired from a magazine advertisement.

(just sharing again...out of the sketchbook)

Looks like graphite. Image is approxmately 7"X7" or so.

Another from the sketchbook. (hope I haven't posted this one before...

Hails from Australia
Hi Michael, I like them both - they are very nice - the dark hair in the first one attracts my attention ( I am rather partial to putting extreme hair on my drawings ) Not that this is really 'extreme' - just nice.

Thanks--Gerak and Mayet

Gerak, I thought the second one would make an effective painting. I thought the stockings and gloves would draw emphasis to the nude areas of her figure. I am partial to black or dark hair, and I also had in mind to have her hair frame her face. I found that style of hair...appealling.

The arc behind her...was just a decorative indication.

Mayet...I too am fond of *pushing* hair styles. I have always liked bangs (must be the Betty Page look!!! lol), but there is something VERY!!!!! attractive about hair styles that seem to frame a woman's features...(especially the eyes).

I noticed that I have a number of figures/sketches where they either have bangs...or the hair seems to add emphasis to the features in the face. hummm, guess I'll have to find more examples.

BTW Mayet....I really like your drawing of your daughter!!!!
(Another beautiful face!!!!!!!!) The toned paper really compliments your drawing nicely!

Wink I can look at these too!

Sorry Mike, I just like them better when all the parts line up!

These are actually people. They have no vampire qualities. They have souls and don't look like they want to devour me or ads for Dutch independent business women!
I keep seeking out the gentle ones. I will keep trying.

(((((dj)))))))

dj, thank you for taking a peek...now and then. I'll always try to add additional comments to work that viewers might want to avoid.

In general:
I think having different areas of interest seems to hold my attention. After all, if ONLY *beauty* existed (in an *ideal* sense)...appearances might become less exciting in a hurry, at least for me. And, it is extremely difficult to get beyond the labels.

I think, that after a painting is completed (and the point of painting a painting is to have viewers view it)..that paintings then become word-magnets. Well, not all paintings...but at least the onces that cause viewers to respond. Which makes me think...I suppose some paintings might become tomato or egg magnets!!
