Obsessive Glass Fanatic Seeks Others

This obsessive glass fanatic is in search of many other fanatics to share stories and information with. I am 26 year old pale white boy. I am an occaisonal smoker, and a somewhat occaisonal drinker. I don't use hard drugs. I don't mind if you use harder drugs, in fact some people say using hard drugs makes it easier to deal with me. I like to ask questions and I like to act like an odd-ball at times. I prefer shop-talk over gossip. I do like to talk, I like to listen even more. I HATE WATCHING SPORTS, which leaves plenty of time for me to do things that actually make a difference. I am married. My wife is everything that I could only hope to be(this is not a joke-she has an enormous heart and a great personality). Don't worry about her though, she won't get in our way as she only like "to watch."

...anyways, on to the glass....

Right now I have been making beads for about 12 days. Our of those 12 days I did not make them for 5 days becuase I could barely move thanks to a jack-a$$ that rear ended me. I am pleased with my progress so far. I realize I could use a lot more practice. I always have a tons of questions after every time I sit down. I mostly enjoy making lapidary type beads and combining deep blues with high contrast (almost flourescent) colors. I am using my time beadmaking to deveop a general understanding of how glass moves and how detail is applied in small amounts. I plan on moving up to other things very soon, I just don't know how soon. I would like to try fusing, globe-shaped ornaments, marbles, vases, housewares, tobacco pipes, and so forth. I have been watching others make things out of glass for years and years and I finally decided to sieze the day.

I just missed my first opportunity to go to a Hot Rods meeting. I was pretty laid up with my back injury. I plan on attending soon enough, as well as attending some formal classes at Steinert. I really hate introductory statements, but I figured I would say formally say "hi" since that seems to be the thing to do around here. Wow, did you ever get bit by the lampworking bug!!!! LOL!!!! It does become quite an obsession.

I checked out your homepage. Flemish Rabbits are gorgeous!!! Yes, we are also pet crazy around here too.

A few years ago, I took care of a neighbors pets for a weekend. One was a Flemish rabbit. Well, the rabbit was easier to deal with than the dog. My cats gave the rabbit a royal welcome. I think they were rather sad when he left. They got along so well.
