Question about NYOS
Just read the announcement on the opening page and thought I should ask. Should we wait until the new program has rolled out before NYOS'ing or does it matter to you?
Also, I've been looking for the banner about NYOSing because that is how I subscribed last time. Is there a button or link somewhere I missed? Sorry, I know you're busy.

Never mind the second question. I found a link in an old thread.

Re: Question about NYOS
I also have a question about the new NYOS.
Was wondering if it would be possible to get an automated notification for renewing our NYOS "before" the NYOS runs out. Like maybe a month before?

Re: Question about NYOS
Hurrah for the updated NYOS! It's the way it should be! How easy it is to give a one time subscription then forget because you have the check mark. Like you said, a magazine doesn't keep coming once it's lapsed.
Let's all support Scott & this site we get so very much from!!

I think this is a great idea WC needs everyone to help as much as they can...to keep this great resource going strong for years to come....

Re: Question about NYOS
I absolutely agree with what everyone has said here. I have let my watercolor magazines lapse because I get so much more here than I get from them. The money that I save will be sent to Scott.
I like the idea of a reminder too. It will help me, for whom time is movin faster and faster each month, it seems.
But I also like the idea that we all need to remember that people contribute to WC in many different ways, and just because someone doesn't have a checkmark doesn't mean that they don't contribute!!
 WAHOO SCOTT!!

Re: Question about NYOS
This is exactly what WC! needs! I'm delighted that we'll have some kind of visual hint that it's time to send a few more dollars to my favourite site. It would be even better if we could tick a box when we send our subscription, like subscribing to threads, to remind us when the subscription is running out.
Also I never even consider thinking less of those who can't subscribe, partly because initially I had no way of making a worthwhile payment (no credit card, no Paypal account) from the UK without causing Scott the expense which a GB pound cheque would incur. I'm sure others have the same problem.
Thanks, Scott!

Re: Question about NYOS
I think this is a great idea...... and would love an automated reminder PLEASE
The mention of those members who do lots extra for the site..... moderators, guides, article writers...............who may do this but not be able to afford to contribute financially.......... how about Platinum checkmarks for them on top of the contribution checkmark ? Apart from the named posts, perhaps members could nominate other members for contributing 'beyond the course of duty' ? Theyd have to give good reason and more than one nomination be received to be considered ....... or would that be too much extra work?

Re: Question about NYOS
For those of you that ask, with the automated system, a notice of expiration will be sent a week or so before the date.
