Shipping Paintings

I swear I saw a post on thi svery thing last week but can not find it.

I think it was Eliza that gave a link to order boxs to ship paintings.
I have never shipped or sold a painting yet but am trying to get my ducks all in a row for when I go on e-bay.

How do you ship your paintings?

Is there a link for ordering the shipping supplies?
Thank you all

Re: Shipping Paintings

Here's a link for printing the prepaid postage label. You can use plain paper and then trim it to size and tape it on. (Don't tape over the barcode.) Print USPS labels

You'll need to set up an online account to do this, but it's great to be able to mail from home and not make a trip to the PO.

Here's the link to free boxes, labels, tubes etc.

Here's a link to info about Priority Mail

And finally - since if I ship from home using the postage I print out from the first link above, I get free delivery confirmation but not insurance - I use a third party insurer . You can order the insurance online right after you print the postage label. It costs $1.50 to insure my paintings.

Cathy
This is wonderful information.
The folks at the post office told me that to pick up from my home it would be an additional $12.00.
Are they charging you?

Cathy!!! I am excited about the insurance. I get the paid postage online, except when I needed insurance, and drives me crazy to have to stand in a long postoffice line just because you can't get insurance online through usps.

I looked at the site you recommended, but would you mind telling me more about the insurance? Do you print something up to put on the package? And if I am understanding it correctly, it's .50 for $100 and then .50 for each $100 value after that? (or was it .75... I can't remember) Anyway that's a big saving over the postoffice insurance. Have you had to make any claims yet? If so,was the process pretty easy?

Thanks so much, this is great news!
Cathy

Wasn't me! I wasn't there! I deny everything! If it was me, it was an accident!

I'm not even in the same country.

And that last one is the truth

Hi,

It may have been KJO. She tipped me to http://www.uline.com Just ordered some boxes from them. Quick service, good prices and good selection.
