Last of three sketches

This is the flower head picked from the formal beds, by my granddaughter. It was about 4" across and a deep burnt orange colour. I sketched it with the idea of doing a watercolour to show the colour and it took about half an hour.

I like the way the light plays across petals... I know this post is a few years old, but I enjoyed going back and looking at it picking up a little technique... Thank you!
