Talking First Art Show!

No artist can deny the rush that comes from having their first public art exhibition. This is mine! The artwork is located in a performing arts theatre in downtown Salt Lake City. I am one of 2 artists in the show which lasts for 2 ˝ months. It started in October and the exhibition comes down in another week. I have eight pieces on display. Many of these works will be familiar to some of you as I have posted them on WC! in the past. Thanks for looking.

Front Entrance

In display window and postcards sent out with this:

Big poster on outside of building

Going inside ...

Christmas wreaths. It kinda struck me as a little ironic – Here it is Christmas Season, and there are these wreaths, and here is my art – Abstract, emotional, and very un-christmasy. :P It seems to me someone has to be chompin at the bit to take my work down and put up something a little more cheery by next week.

Here are the names of the 2 artists on the wall and our artwork below them. Can you guess which on is mine?

Continuing Down the hallway

Three of mine in a row – “Red Spatter” is new and is first time you have seen it.

two more

Turn myself around and look out the big windows. People walking outside can see the art inside.

couple of closeups of the frames: I love this – it is a deep cherry wood and unless you get close, it looks black.

Going up

Going down

The watering hole: A painting strategically placed close (but not too close) to the water fountain. There’s no escaping viewing my art. Muah ha ha.

A view of the side of the building and the big windows from the street. There is a lot of glare, but if you squint, you may be able to make out some of my artwork up on the balcony.

The end.

Followed you around this place

Smiled and waved at all your works

Squinted where I was supposed to squint

Congratulations

Congratulations. I would love to see it in real life, but it was nice to make a virtual visit too.
