Scavenger Hunt #611 - Nov 21 - Nov 29

Scavenger Hunt #611 – Nov 21 – Nov 29

If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366347

Here are the rules for the hunt:

*All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.

*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.

*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.

*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.

*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary. ***

Think it is time to lay down and meditate on this list.

Thanks Joan. I am actually off to change my list as you came up with a few the same. Great minds and all that

Joe

Hello everybody!

Joan T, thank you very much for the new list and challenge. Nice work with your non-dominant hand on what I guess are watercolor tubes and great job on the fruit. Welcome back

Ai, super job with MS-Paint and a mouse!

Ai, love the digi of the brushes. Well done. Mouse drawing isn't easy.

Joan, you lines with your left are great. Mmmmm. Avocado, a favorite here, too.

We sketched out on the porch. Today it is rainy and cloudy and we are inside. With a Prismacolor 05 and Chisel in the big book.

Number 1 open, Number 2, closed - a small tin of mints
Number 3 large, Number 4, small - old wrought iron irons. May be steel as they haven't rusted away like the others on the porch.

Hi everyone. Great new list!

Ai- love your color on the brushes
Joan- I still haven’t been brave enough to do my non dom hand so kudos and a wonderful avocado
Aunt Jo- I love the mint tin and the star on the iron

Here is my “close” and open. My mom made me a wooden jewelry box with velvet lining and stitched roses and ribbon vine. ❤️

Individuo, thank you. Good to be back sketching for here. I find if I stop for any length of time it is so hard to get back into the hunts.

Ai, thanks!

Jo, thank you. Those irons are great, especially the one with the writing on the handle.

KamArt, good to meet you. I don't know if you are new to the group or not, but I don't think I've seen your sketches before. I haven't been in the hunts as regularly as I sometimes am. What a pretty jewelry box and how special that your mom made it. You did a great job on the wood grain of the box. You should give the non-dominant hand a try. It isn't easy but it does make you really have to focus on the object you're sketching. I go very slowly. lol

Re: Scavenger Hunt #611 - Nov 21 - Nov 29

These comments are regarding hunt 610. I'm posting them here in case folks don't get back to that thread:

Ai - great table layout for sing! That's one fancy pizza Thanks for your thanks and thanks for participating!

Joe - great button medley - you are so good with graphite Aha two candles! Are they LED battery operated? How do you like them? I like the idea of candles without the dripping wax everywhere. Great job on those knives.

Jo - thank you. Check out that wrist and hand! Oooh gorgeous Pan Pastels Oh ho, look at that mask in another treatment by another artist Thanks for your thanks and thanks for participating!

KarmArt - what a great mask Yay fuzzy soft pillow Woo hooo an old school joystick! From Atari, I believe? Do you have the rest of the setup? (Atari 2600 I believe?)

individuo - That shower nozzle looks great. What do you sing in the shower? Thanks for your thanks and thanks for participating!
