Scavenger Hunt #610: Nov 13 - 21

Welcome to Scavenger Hunt #610: Nov 13 - 21

If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366347

Here are the rules for the hunt:

*All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.

*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.

*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.

*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.

*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary. ***

Number 2, tall and 3, short - Strawberry and blueberry preserves.
Number 4, dark and 5, light - sunglasses and flashlight
Number 6, quiet - Buddha

Re: Scavenger Hunt #610: Nov 13 - 21

ink and watercolour, 6x6" page

3. has 3 or more buttons - car key two views - one with ink and watercolour and the other with what is supposed to be waterproof ink (ha! it's not!) and watercolour. I thought I had left the "waterproof" ink to dry before adding colour and either I didn't wait long enough or the ink is not truly waterproof. More testing needed.

This was using an existing "dot" (not really) pattern - when I verified that the marks made from the other end of the paintbrush really are not very satisfying dots.

Cheers,

EP - you seem to be int curves and they are are great. I especially like the mouse. Well done. The watercolor key fobs make me smile. The geometric background adds something and the overall effective just fun.

Jo - I think Mary pushes you. All of these sketches have a more finished look than your usual pen sketches. Nice work.

Karmart - I especially like the purse. They are all welldone but I keep looking back to the purse. Ni
Nicely done

Ai - love the 1, 2, 3 button series. The shell is so pretty. Good job on the rubics cube. I get frustrated just looking at one.

Keep sketching
Joe

Re: Scavenger Hunt #610: Nov 13 - 21

Hello everybody! I have missed most of the previous hunt and the start of this one. Hope to have time to play now.

EP, thank you very much for hosting again! Your list made me smile but I can't sketch it from life, so I will have to think of another item for that.
Nice and neat sketch of the mouse (isn't the wheel a third button?) and well done on the watch too. Love your ink and wash with the keys. Test that not so waterproof ink on different papers too.

Jo, 3D or even 4D, I certainly enjoy seeing the results of your sketching together with KarmArt. Great set, I especially like the sunglasses and the jars.

KarmArt, great array of ink sketches. I especilly like the sunglasses and the quiet figure.

Ai, as usual your MS-Paint skills amaze me, especially on that doorknob. Love the seashell and the cube.
