Scavenger Hunt #608: Oct 28 - Nov 5, 2019

Scavenger Hunt #608: Oct 28 - Nov 5

If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366347

Here are the rules for the hunt:

*All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.

*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.

*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.

*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.

*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary. ***

Can't believe I'm first when I'm so behind on everything all the time.

In the big book with a Prismacolor 05 and a Precise V7 Rolling Ball (another pen I didn't know I had)

Number 1 A thing that helps you go from Point A to Point B (doubles for Inktober today which was Ride)

Thanks, Ai.

I sketched in the big book with a Micron 02. Doubles for Inktober, too, as injured.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #608: Oct 28 - Nov 5, 2019

Thanks, Joe, the flame on the candle seems to be flickering. Love it! (So did Gene)

individuo, the water in the glass is perfect. Beautiful light and shading. Thanks.

Joan, thank you, and to you and Ai, yes it was a bandaid on the thumb for the sketch! I like the corner of the room with the turkey. Beautiful color in the trees. I like walls and doorways, great with the flower pots. We don't get much fall color in general. Every few years it works out, but not yet. We did get down to about 38 last night but will be in the 60s today. Gloomy still. We got some much needed rain.

I sketched in the big book for this and Inktober with a Micron '02

Number 3, rock - the necklace has turquoise rock and is maybe from Bolivia or Peru.

Trick or treat...

This is from a photo in the Southwest Western forum challenge so doesn't work here, but I like it so you get to see it. Happy Halloween!

Individuo - the glass of water is great. Tones, shadows, highlights are all spot on!

Joan - love that you got fall colors in all of three. 👍🏽

Jo - love turquoise. Nicely drawn, all that tiny detail. Some really fine lines. Love the pumpkins!

Keep sketching
Joe

Jo, thanks! We are getting a little rain here too. The forecast was for more but there hasn't been much...just wet for several days. Pretty necklace! I like turquoise and when I was straightening up in my bedroom this morning I found a box with a chunky turquoise necklace that belonged to my aunt. I forgot about it.

Joe, thank you. Do you miss the fall colors?

6 - still water (back by the island) - watercolors
7 - moving water (by the duck)
