Love the tweaked version Ken! It appears to have more depth with your subtle changes. Your mountains are always fantastic and this one is no exception.

Thank you Derek! Some subtle shifts drop out in the image- I may add a bit more variations to temperatures in foreground. I do appreciate it-

Hi Wes! As always, reaching for more, and hope to keep it going forward. I believe it does, and will bring those concepts into all of them as I go along- eally appreciate your encouragement about my mountain scenes.

Re: Wind River- Final Oil- 6x8 version

I believe this is done- after pushing a few more warms and contrast into the foreground, and a bit of 'flattening' in the background. That's it!

Thank you Randy! Working like this helps teach me concepts and some fine points about finishing a work- they should come in handy outside.

Nicely done Ken...yes this piece has such a nice open invitation that we follow right into the scene with wonderful depth, lighting and subtle colour contrasts throughout.

As you said these exercises help strengthen for work in the field.... good luck and I look forward to your next. Very nicely done.

Thank you John! The place is grand and amazing- the creative liberties I've taken are with the hope to convey that feeling.

Studio work can be really beneficial as a complement to field work- if good decisions can be improved there, then they will stick under the time constraints working outside, I trust.

The extra contrast particularly in the fg and the yellow/gold on the rocks has made a big improvement. Superb.

Hi Arnie- Thank you! The small adjustments can make a real difference- one has to use everything (value, color, edges) that's available.
