Getting inspired by some fine still lifes posted here. Here’s a couple of paintings on panel. Both 16 x 20

Lots of feeling in both of these, but I think that the lower one conveys more emotion.
Let’s see some more still lifes.

I’m not sure how realistic you want to go, because there is something I really like about this unique, fresh style. Seems honest and confident.

Bill, Derek, Thanks for observing and commenting. Taken to heart, especially from you fellow painters I admire.
After many years layoff, I remain in the representational / figurative realm. Not trying for detailed rendering or realism, but making a conscious effort to manipulate color and form for a convincing illusion of space and atmosphere. Sometimes I come close, sometimes I get it.

I really like the first one, nice massing in of shapes, cheerful high key image with lovely colors.

                    Two beautiful paintings!
I loved the second picture. Especially the tone of the pears!
                    Congratulations!

These are both very nice. I especially like the first, as the sense of light is so strong and beautiful. It kinda reminds me of a book I studied from a while ago, How to See Color and Paint It, by Arthur Stern. Actually, the light in both of them is really lovely.
