Rock thing WDE Nov 8
this is my 2 hours worth - between getting down to the laundramat and making lunch. Nothing would go right-and was ready to throw this in the bin!!!!! Then my kid and his friendhad overtaken the computer so I gave up on even looking at the ref image and decided to play around and experiment -figured I couldn't make it much worse lol !!!!

Gee, look at all the detail in those rocks - for a rock thing - LOL.
You did a great job with this one. Think I might try it tomorrow.

Trish, I'm so pleased you decided to do this one--if you haven't seen it yet there is a better image with the others (larger). Given the time frame retraints you did a wonderful paintng.
This big o rock is on the way to Sedona, Arizona and the rocks are so red--and against a blue Arizona sky it's eye popping.
Thanks for you help today,
Kathy

Very nice watercolor. Your morning sounds like my evening, and you did especially well considering all the distractions!

Interesting texture on the rocks. The blue wash sets off the cliff nicely. The experimentation was/is a great idea -- thank the kids for hoarding the computer, lol!

I like the texture on the rocks - I lway start by printing out the ref pics that I fancy - but my printer is so slow that I am nearly always 5 - 10 mins after the start by the time I get down to it - very nice job

Trish,
the graduating sky is cool -- how do you get all those details into the rocks with watercolor. You are the artist. Thanks for sharing and encouraging as always

Re: Rock thingy!
Gosh Girl how'd you do it? Not being able to refer back to the image. Great job. Really looks like AZ.
Oh yeah, I wanted to ask you how did you use a knife with water color?
