Yet another painting that looks like it could be a sunset X

Thanks for looking. 26 in W X 13 in. H.

I got a request to make a painting based on a series of sunset photos. The result has been a series of explorations. This one is the latest and I'm thinking there will be one more. Or maybe not.

IDK, it would be hard to top this one. The edges on the colors are distinct, almost like layers in rock, but still blend beautifully. I love the horizon, the reflection and the added bits of teal. That you chose a mossy green for the darkening sky is genius.

Exquisite example of using cool and warm colors together in a landscape sky.

Looks like you had lots of fun with this, love the colour combos.

Great colors and a strong feeling of a Turner sunset over the waters.

The only thing that bothers me a little bit is the darkness of the sharp edged cloud/overhang or whatever at the top, but that is just me.

I like it

Regards,
Trier

ptrkgmc,
Trier,
ronsu18,
Christopher,

thank you.

It's definitely possibly a sunset because we are facing west at an earthbound location - at least in the photo that inspired this.

I'm really enjoying these, in large part because they don't try to be the classic sunset. Interesting/compelling colour schemes. Looking forward to seeing where they all lead you. Great places so far.
