Art Scavenger Hunt #492: April 10-18

And again the honour is mine.

These are the hunting rules:
- All items must be sketched or painted from life --- no photo references nor from imagination.
- Be as “creative” with the subjects as you want. Multiple subjects in a single drawing/painting is fine. Count them all!
- No time limit on the sketches… as much or as little detail as you wish.
- Any medium is welcomed.
- All items need to be drawn or painted new from the date this scavenger hunt starts.
- No certain order for completion. Number as you go to keep track of how many you've done.
- Feel free to ad a tidbit about the item and/or what made you select it.
- Have fun

Jeroen, thanks for the interesting and challenging list.

Ai, nice still life. Great that you have an ostrich egg around...and chocolate too. I gave it up for Lent and I'm counting the days...sigh!

Joan, you were out and about. Bet that was a fun trip. I like the landscape and from nature. The water is especially nice.

I went out with the Sketch Bastrop group. We anticipated rain so we sketched at a house on the porch. I used the Micron 01 and some watercolors. The b/w sketches are in the travel sketchbook and the house is in a watercolor sketchbook.

Number 1, from the garden - a cement round thing with flowerpots and stand on top. The goat head is on the pot and I couldn't see that so I didn't connect it well. Should have gone to see before starting, eh?
Number 2, sketch a friend - Pomona
Number 3, sketch a hat, bonus on a head, another friend, sketcher.
Number 4, guest house - such a cute guest house, the main house is a historic house so very beautiful with the gingerbread trim, etc. Should have taken more time on it.

Joan: Thanks... I wish I could follow your art trail...everywhere... the water surface and reflection are super... the landscape from Philly is also nice too...

Jo: Thanks..love the focus look captured on your sketch buddies faces... wonderful house in wc.... Did your friend loan you a Micron pen???... I
love that you put Lucy's name on your sketchbook too...

April 13-17 is Thailand's traditional new year holiday... if you go outside you are expected to get water thrown on you... so we stocked our fridges and plan to stay home...and busy cleaning the house as I am having a few house guests tomorrow for lunch.... hope to have sometime to draw....

Interesting, in Bolivia before Lent at Carnival time there are water balloon dousings and buckets of water everywhere. Same thing, stay home or get wet! Our kids used to love it......

Thanks for the memories.....

It actually was getting to be a bit rough, but back in the early 70s it was lots of fun. Equipment got too sophisticated in the 90s and not as fun with strangers getting involved. In the old days it was mainly just the neighborhood where you knew everybody.

Joan - nice landscape and from nature watercolors. Panoramic view of Philly is cool. Love how you did the water.

Jo - nice line work. Who is Lucy? Quick sketches of people are tough. I just tried one of my wife at doctor's office and you do have to be quick. Cute little cottage. I love covered porches. That was always on my list of what I wanted in a house. In the 3rd, and hopefully final, house and none have had covered porch. Dousing with water seems a strange way to celebrate.

Ai - Glad to hear you, Tone and the girls are nice and dry.

1 - family member - done spontaneously in Procreate using finger for a stylus. Cropped and resized in Art Studio per Pine Cone's technique.

Keep sketching
Joe
